Warm up your Thanksgiving appetite with the Turkey Day 5K! The Chicago TD5K brings family and friends together to start the day in a healthy way. Come dressed the part, and join runners, joggers and walkers for some lighthearted run. We can’t anticipate the weather, but we can guarantee fun.

The Chicago Turkey Day 5K will take place in beautiful Lincoln Park along the shores of Lake Michigan. The start and finish line will remain on Cannon Drive, north of Fullerton.
Participants will head south towards Fullerton Ave, turning east towards Lake Shore Dr. At Fullerton and Lake Shore, runners will turn left onto the north bound entrance ramp onto Lake Shore Drive. Runners will continue along the curb traffic lane of Lake Shore Dr. for about 1.5 miles from Fullerton to Recreation Dr.
After exiting Lake Shore Dr. at Recreation Dr. runners will immediately turn south along the Lake Front Path. The course continues through Lincoln Park along the Lake Front Path passing beautiful Belmont Harbor and continuing south to a point north of Diversey where runners will enter Inner Lake Shore and continue south to the finish line.
The event will take place no matter the weather, so be sure to bring an extra layer. Gear check is available at registration. The event is not responsible for any lost items.

For youngsters age 2 to 12, we offer the opportunity to participate in the Plymouth Rock Ramble, sponsored by CLIF Kid, on our loop course on the running path, with the start and finish in the heart of the festivities.
The race will be staged in the following age group heats:
2- to 4-year-olds: 50 yards
5- to 6-year-olds: 1/4 miles
7- to 12-year-olds: 1/2 mile
Greater Chicago Food Depository
Participation in the Turkey Day 5K can be a great way to help the less fortunate with a food donation to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Your donation comes at a time when the need is greatest. Canned goods will be collected at packet pick-up on Wednesday and the race site on Thanksgiving. Everything from soup to nuts is welcome. In previous years we have collected close to 10,000 pounds of food. You can help even more by including a cash donation with your race entry. 100% of all donations go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

7 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. Race day registration and packet pickup on the eastside of Cannon Drive. Cash only on race day.
9 a.m. 5K starts
9:45 a.m. Plymouth Rock Ramble starts
10 a.m. Raffle and awards
Please be sure to bring along two cans of food (or more) to packet pickup or the race site. Each participant will receive a long-sleeve event shirt, race number, entry into the event raffle and plenty of post-race treats.
Parking
Free neighborhood street parking is available, but plan to arrive early to find a spot. Parking is available at Lincoln Park Zoo on Cannon Drive for a fee. You will have the option to purchase prepaid parking passes during race registration for a discounted rate of $17.00 each. Simply select how many passes you would like to purchase, and they will be ready for you when you pick up your race bib at any one of the packet pickups.
Awards
Overall awards, including product prizes, will go to the top men and top three women in the designated age groups in the 5K run. Age group awards will be mailed.
Kids participating in the Plymouth Rock Ramble will receive a finisher ribbon and a cotton T-shirt. The race will be staged in the following age group heats:
