BOISE -- More than 3,000 runners filled the streets of downtown Boise early Thursday morning to run the Life Time Turkey Day 5K.
"It is just something good," said Kristen Colter, this is her second year running in the race. "Get out feel like you've had some exercise before you sit down and start binge eating."
Working off the big Thanksgiving meal motivated a lot of people to come out and run the 3.1 miles.
"It makes you feel a little less guilty about gorging yourself on Thanksgiving," said Molly Cunningham.
Runners may have been trying to work off their meals but they were collecting food for underprivileged families in the Treasure Valley.
By the time the race was over several big boxes were completely filled with food donations.
